I wasn’t really looking for a new mobile game, but I randomly came across Duet Night Abyss the other day. It’s set to release this October on PC and mobile, and it actually looks kind a promising.

So, first off — yeah, it’s anime-style. But not the super bright or bubbly kind. This one’s got more of a darker tone to it. The characters seem pretty well-designed, nothing too over-the-top, and the world feels like it has that slightly futuristic-but-magical mix. If you’ve played stuff like Punishing: Gray Raven or Honkai Impact, it might remind you of those — but with less flash and maybe a bit more grit. Not a bad look at all.
Gameplay Stuff
I watched a bit of the combat, and yeah, it looks decent — quick movements, flashy attacks, the usual. But I always wonder how that kind of thing actually plays on a phone. Sometimes games like this look great in trailers but end up feeling too cramped when you’re actually playing on a small screen. I’ll probably download it on mobile first just to check it out, but if it’s clunky or the controls feel weird, I’ll just move over to PC.
Story? Maybe?
They haven’t revealed a ton about the plot yet, which I kind of like. Something about tech and magic being at odds. Not the most original setup, sure, but it’s all about execution. If the world and characters are interesting, I’m down for it.
Coming Soon
The fact that Duet Night Abyss is launching this October on PC and mobile is honestly convenient. You don’t need a console or super fancy rig. Just install it and go. Cross-platform stuff would be great, but not sure if that’s a thing yet.
Final Thoughts
I don’t know if it’s gonna be amazing or anything, but it does look like something I’d pick up just to see what it’s about. Could be a fun side game — or maybe even more, depending on how it plays. Either way, I’ll probably give it a shot when it drops in October.
